Medical stores in the Philippine capital of Manila will start dispensing the flu vaccine on July 15, according to a city official.
The city’s Health Ministry said the city’s department of health has also started dispensing a vaccine.
“We will be taking the flu shots as soon as the city government announces it.
The first batch of vaccines will be given out on July 12,” city health department director, Alfredo Barrio, said in a statement on Saturday.
The Philippines is not alone in its push to get a flu shot.
Earlier this month, the United States announced it would start distributing flu shots to all citizens of its territories beginning July 15.
The US also announced a similar plan for the rest of the country.
In Canada, officials have also started vaccinating their citizens beginning on July 1.
